Here are samples of graphic and web design work I've done.

Topic: Charter Commission - Nov. 19, 2009
Elk Grove Citizen

Building this page, which was designed to be a guide to an ongoing issue that the Elk Grove Citizen had written about many times, was a challenge. Embedding widgets from various Web services was made challenging by the limitations of our CMS - but the end result turned out well.

Associated Students Inc. election guide - April '08
www.statehornet.com

This page was meant as a guide for students voting in the student government election that semester. It contained links to all of the articles and biographies written on the candidates, as well as short audio clips that would play from within the page. Aside from the audio players, it was coded entirely with raw HTML.

Various in-house ads - Spring '08
www.statehornet.com
If it's on campus, it's online.

Fuel for your iPod.

Kings Fan?
These in-house ads were used to direct traffic to the website, which was one of my major concerns. They were used and re-used many times both in print and online.

Assemblyman hopes for trans fat transformation - March 17, 2008
Sacramento State JOUR135: Public Affairs Reporting

This graphic was an attempt to convey some useful information in a way that would be both eye-catching and relevant.

Graphic: Study great, even late - Feb. 7, 2007
The State Hornet, page A1

This is a light-hearted graphic that accompanied a story about the opening of a 24-hour study lounge on campus. I integrated the face of campus President Alexander Gonzalez, and it was used as the centerpiece art on the front page of the newspaper that week.

Graphic:Parking Structure III makes record - Oct. 4, 2006
The State Hornet, page ???
www.statehornet.com

This was a fun way to provide quick facts about the parking structure under construction at Sacramento State. It took a long time to get all the details of the asphalt and parking spots, but I think it was worth the effort.
