Video: Sheldon bests Franklin in division finals - March 8, 2010
www.egcitizen.com
This was just my second time filming in a professional sports venue – Arco Arena, home of the Sacramento Kings (my first time was during the previous round of play, a couple days prior). That made the prospect a little intimidating, but it was also an exciting atmosphere.
Video: Elk Grove Police Activities League holds boxing tournament - Dec. 11, 2009
www.egcitizen.com
This was a definite example of an event that completely caught me off guard. I arrived at what I thought would be a small tournament to see more than 100 people and dozens of competitors, and the video was much more exciting because of it.
Video: Franklin avoids tiebreakers, clinches playoff berth - Nov. 17, 2009
www.egcitizen.com
Videotaping local high school football games has been a bit of a learning experience in quick panning and zooming, but it's a fun opportunity to provide a depth of coverage that not many other media outlets do.

Video: Fourth of July celebration in Elk Grove lights up the sky - July 8, 2009

This was the first video of its type for the Elk Grove Citizen. At first, it was difficult to even figure out if it could be embedded on the Citizen's Web site, but eventually we worked around it.
Map: Places to hear Sac State music this weekend - Nov. 14, 2008
Heard (statehornet.com music blog)
This was my first try at a practical use for an interactive map. The different colored points represent different days (the red point was a concert happening the same night the map was posted; the blue points were the next day; the green point was in two days). Getting the map to embed correctly with our blog page proved to be difficult, but it was a good learning experience nonetheless.
Video: Sac State gamers seek new haven - Oct. 1, 2008
www.statehornet.com
This video was one of the first videos our paper did that was focused on more of an issue than an event. I decided to explore the reasons behind a switch the university's Game Room had made from stand-up arcade games to console games, and what I found surprised me.

Audio slideshow: Finding Peace - April 1, 2008

Voices: What worries you most about the budget cuts? - March 19, 2008
www.statehornet.com
This was a spur-of-the-moment production just after a hugely attended meeting explaining budget cuts facing Sac State. I worked with a news writer, who was interviewing atendees after the meeting.
